I had the great pleasure of coordinating and moderating, together with Alicja Kozak, the event entitled “Conference on the Future of Europe”.
From April 2022, I have the great honor of joining the Intercollegiate research team that will be looking for the key challenges that the Polish economy has to face in the third decade of the 21st century.
The course offered a systematic foundational knowledge of the theoretical building blocks of international business research, the most updated debates on theories and methods, and an overview of topics and areas of research in the field. The ultimate goal was to develop an ability to identify opportunities for future research. The course was organized into two parts. The first part focused on different theoretical perspectives. In the second part, state-of-the-art research on specific topics and areas ware discussed.
On January 14, 2022, the “Young Scientists” competition at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business was resolved. I was pleased to receive the postive decision about the employment as a Research Assistant from February 15, 2022 at the Department of International Economic Relations.
As a member of the university’s Asia-Pacific Research Center, I had a great opportunity to present the results of my latest research. After many months of virtual scientific events, I felt extremely excited to participate in a hybrid conference, during which some of the speeches (including mine) were made in the university recording studio in the InQube building.
Our research presented a review of the new structural economics (NSE) assumptions in the context of an impressive development of the Chinese photovoltaic cells industry in 2000-2019. Furthermore, we aimed to study and illustrate the impact of the industrial policy measures and the implemented state interventions on the development of the studied leading-edge industry from the perspective of revealed comparative advantage considering the theoretical assumptions of the NSE.
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is one of the most significant infrastructural projects worldwide and a chance for the Chinese photovoltaic cells industry to scale up and expand into new markets. From 2000 to 2019, this industry became a global leader in capacity, export, employment and innovative technology implementation.
The TopMinds program, co-organized by the Polish-American Fulbright Commission and the Top500 Innovators Association, was a unique opportunity for me to build an interdisciplinary mentoring relationship with Professor Beata Bochorodycz.
International Doctoral Seminar entitled “Sustainability in economics and management” at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business was an amazing opportunity to deliver a lecture entitled “Chinese energy transition towards power generation from renewable energy sources in the years 2000 – 2019”. The event allowed me to present the results of the research conducted so far, with particular emphasis on the review and evaluation of individual policies that have shaped the process of energy transition in the PRC.
The 5th International APEEN conference (20-21.01.2021) on energy transformation and sustainable development was organized by the Portuguese Energy Economy Association under the patronage of CENSE and IAEE. Speech Fri “China harnesses the wind – Chinese policy towards wind power development from the new structural economics perspective” provided an opportunity for an intensive discussion with participants in this event on the transformation of the Chinese wind energy sector in the light of the assumptions of the new structural economy.
