Innovative International Business Education with VR
I am proud to share our innovative approach to teaching international business, which we presented to the Executive MBA students from the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. Together with Dr. Karolina Łopacińska, since 2021 we have been working on a course utilizing Virtual Reality technology to offer students an immersive experience in managing the internationalization process of an enterprise.
How can virtual reality enhance the teaching of international business?
Since 2021, together with Dr. Karolina Łopacińska, I have been developing an innovative course for International Business and International Economic Relations students at the Wrocław University of Economics and Business. Thanks to advanced Virtual Reality (VR) technology, our course International Business Simulation Game, conducted in the Business Processes Simulation Center, offers students a completely new, immersive experience in managing the internationalization process of a company.
What does the International Business Simulation Game offer?
- Optimization of production and logistics processes
- Creation of export strategies
- Development of a Polish company producing photovoltaic panels for markets such as China, the USA, Germany, India, and Brazil
In the game, companies created by students competed for requests for proposals and built their image in selected markets, which allowed for maximizing profits and gaining a competitive advantage.
Why is this important?
Participants learned to analyze foreign markets, manage production and sales processes, and respond to unforeseen events. It was a real survival school in the world of international business!
The two-year process of refining the simulation lasted until the end of February 2023, and in the summer semester of 2022/2023, the course was implemented as a separate course for MSG and IB students at our university.
It was a unique opportunity to experience education through VR and prepare for global business challenges. I am extremely excited about what the future holds for our visiting students from the Warsaw University of Technology and the successes they will achieve on the international stage.
